Cool hike but very disappointing to see so much garbage littered along trails. Got pretty crowded early (even w/ less than ideal weather) and half the people were not wearing masks.

Very nice trail. It started out easy going downhill but tough going up. Nice ocean breeze, we hiked all the way down to the water. Around 7 miles round trip. Parking is a problem unless you are lucky enough to find a spot when someone leaves. I’d do it again.

Trail is ok - we saw scenic beach views for only a short portion of the trail, it it was dry overgrown brush for the most part. Be prepared to go uphill for the last half if starting counterclockwise. Portions of the trail lead to private property but there are multiple alternative trails that connect the loop.

Beautiful trail but it often led us to private property so we merged into other trails :) Also... I got a parking ticket so make sure to read all the signs.

Great views of the ocean, but I would say this is more than a moderate hike. It is pretty steep and rocky at times. Bring lots of water and wear a hat as there’s not a lot of shade. Also watch out for snakes, we saw a few while hiking.

Very nice place for many option hiking, running and bike, only thing that make me sad it’s how people throw garbage I did not have the time to take pictures but next time I will, people throw face mask and plastic globes it’s very sad.

The Paintbrush Trail portion of this hike was closed as of June 4, 2020. I continued on the main path to Burma Road & turned left until it intersected with this trail. You’ll descend to the asphalt road (Palos Verdes Drive South) and follow it a short way to Abalone Cove. Then it’s a short walk to the end of the bluff with decent views. Then it’s back up and up until you’re back on Burma Road to the trailhead. Not much shade throughout this trail and there are two porta-potties about 3/4 mile into the hike. Enjoy!

Great view the whole way. The trail took us through a closed route. We didn’t finish the whole trail because you walk along the road quite a bit at the end. My dog was not having it, when cars passed by so fast. Did this trail 03/09/2020.

The view looks amazing but trail is closed. You can get on the trail but there’s signs saying you will get cited.

Parking gets crazy (at least on the weekends!) so get there early if you can. If not, just be prepared to walk a ways to the trailhead. Trail itself is really beautiful. Not too steep- def easy/ moderate. Lots of little trails so it’s easy to get confused but your generally just heading down towards the water so you can take different trails if you want. A little strange when you get to the bottom because you have to walk maybe a quarter mile on a popular road, but there is shoulder space. There is a turn off to the left that will take you down to a BEAUTIFUL lookout and then you can go down to the cove and water. I’ve never seen too many people down there, even on the weekends. Sometimes you see lots of sea lions on the rocks by the water! This is one of my favorite beach hikes!

Great trail I’ve been hiking here for a couple of years now and its only gotten more crowded. If you wake up early you can see bugs and lizards and bunnies hanging out on the trails .

Wonderful!!!!

Beautiful trail, mostly open single track. The bottom part of the trail that goes out onto the bluff is along a busy highway, and a bit overgrown so I would use caution if you care to go all the way out onto the cliffs. The upper portions were extremely busy, but it probably has to do with the current pandemic and this being one of the few activities left.
