Great place for different level hikers. Easy hiking on fire roads or moderate on the trails. Either way the views are breathtaking.

This was a surprisingly stunning hike with some seriously breathtaking views! Catalina Island is so much in clear sight that I nearly lost my mind. I sat at the lookout for at least 30 minutes just gazing at the ocean and the island.

I would suggest keeping your phone on you to track the trail because there are so many side trails to get lost on. There's also a lot of up and down, so be ready for strength training leg work as well. Overall, the 3 hours or so it took to complete this hike was well worth it.

Great day to be outside. Such a clear view to Catalina! The hike itself was ok. Well kept trails.

What a scenic hike!!!! The views were gorgeous. You really need to use your recording because there are SO MANY trails one could get confused

Great views, especially in the late afternoon. Note that part of trail indicates a turn into a section marked as private property. I had to take a detour to avoid hassles.

Very pretty with some great ocean views. Some steep hills - but what better thing for a tightened butt? Not a ton of parking; there were a few spots but it was a Monday morning. Weekends might be hard.

Great for a early walk/hike!!!

Nice trail space, wasn't overly crowded but populated. This specific set of paths has 2 parts closed off so be prepared to change it up.

This trail would have been great but 1.7 miles in, the trail is closed. I tried to improvise by taking a different trail but there isn't another that will take you down closer to the water. If I were to do it again I would start the loop and go counter clock wise. There are more trail options that way. Take plenty of water. Even though it's near the water, there isn't much of a breeze.

Easy to moderate little hike enjoy the beach views. Unfortunately we went in December and it had been raining so we got a lot of mud. Was difficult to walk so we had to go back. Would definitely like to go back to enjoy the views.

Very chill hike, make sure not to go off trail though, a park ranger threatened to cite us for laying down off trail to get a good view, but nonetheless this is a great little hike.

It was a beautiful scenery, very breezy. Good trail but very intense when you go all the way down to the beach area to the Trump National Golf Club and then it became rewarding down by the beach, the hike back up was super intense. I would definitely do it again though!

Beautiful location for a nice, easy-going to moderate hike (depending on fitness level). I recommend wearing actual hiking shoes/boots, despite it not being a difficult hike, simply because it's a bit slippy going downhill. Overall, wonderful place to go through at different tide levels. Would recommend and would go back for morning hiking.

Nice View, No shade, no wildlife, almost no vegetation on 50% of the area. This is a good place to mountain bike.

This is such a great trail! This particular route includes the Burma Trail and Ishibashi Trail. When I tracked this hike it turned out to be 3.8 miles instead of 2.8. The views are amazing! The best time to go in the spring is 1.5-2 hrs before sunset. Even after sunset is great because a lot of bunnies come out in the cooler air. Hopefully it will rain a few more times so there will be more blooms to admire.

Did this hike with some girlfriends, we enjoyed be out but there was little to no shade and we didn't bring enough water. No greenery along the hike. It was dry and dusty. Definitely not a nice stroll by the beach that we were expecting. Nice views of the ocean though!

The views from the top of Portugese Bend are amazing and the reward at the bottom is a small but great beach. Enjoy your time at the beach because you have the hike back up to come.

The trail it self is fun with good views. But compared to other trails in LA county, you cant help but to think of your favorite trail and how you should of made the drive. Crowded weekends in my point of view; it just takes away from the connection with nature. Best way to hit the eject button and getting to your car is going straight up the only trail that brakes off to the right on kelvin canyon trail. It happens to be the only trail that has about 60 degree incline not hard to miss but you will need to catch your breath.
