Looking for a long, paved trail, next to the river in Bakersfield? Well, this is for you then. It's nice to ride, walk, or run on a cool day. People are always on this trail.

Nice stretch of a walk. I took my boys out and they enjoyed it. The park is nicely kept but if you take your dogs please pick up after yourself.

Springtime along the walkway is perfect. With the river flowing this year, it is a great way to get outdoors and soak in some sun. Note, the path was closed at Allen Rd., and I'm unsure when it will reopen.

The convenient, easy to get to location makes this a perfect place to walk, bike or run without leaving the city. And when there's water in the river it provides some nice scenery as well

just to the western side of the dam after you cross the bridge you can park on the left(if heading north) the highway to kernville. fairly dry stream bed hike. can hike from lake isabella inland over boulders and rocks, great place for recreational panning and rockhounding. took my 9 year old sons and they handled the hike and climbing just fine.
