Nice easy walk/hike with some small inclines. Lots of space for everyone to walk so was able to keep physical distance and enjoy the outdoors. On clear days, would have a nice view of the city.

Good trails for all levels. You can keep it super easy by just going to Japanese Gardens or walking around the pond. If you are ok with some incline, the trails are great with beautiful views. We love it for our family - we end it with the big grassy bowl area where we can picnic or throw around a frisbee. I love the improvements they’ve made the last few years. Good signage and nice and clean park area.

We did the playa trail and that was a good hike. I like how at the end of the trail there was a steep hill that you can run up. The incline is nice. It’s a great workout.

Fun hike. It’s very close to my home, so my wife and I hike it very often, probably once a month. They’ve really invested some time and money in this area over the past decade. It has great picnic areas as well. Pro-tip: Park at Norman O. Houston park (on the other side of Kenneth Hahn, at South La Brea and Stocker) and walk a block north to Don Lorenzo Drive. There is a back entrance (a legit entrance to the recreation area). Save yourself the $6. Probably won’t matter to you if you are visiting once for the experience, but we’ve literally saved hundreds over 20 years. Or go during the week, when parking is free.

I would recommend taking the counterclockwise direction of the loop. it's more challenging for a quick hike

I love the trail but be cautious. There is a point near the Bowl Loop that is very steep. This is made more difficult by the fact that this point in the path is narrow and overgrown.

A good way to see the L. A. skyline with snowcap mountains in the background. A walking stick is recommended.

Easy walk around lip of an old reservoir with views of sun rise over DTLA and sunset over Santa Monica, get pretty much 360clear views including LAX and oil works. Longer trails available to find this is wonderfully useful resource in the middle of LA. Used and loved by locals. Park area for MLK dedication. Plus can play frisbee golf!

Trails on the eastern side of the loop are very over grown from the rains. Not a bad thing, just a heads up.

I come here a few times a month with my doggy and the trails are always interesting, they seem to never get old. The park it’s self is not that big but there’s a wide variety of terrains, from very steep inclines to level trails.. perfect for breaking in a new pair of boots!
