Peaceful, easy trail with a nice view of the mountains. Restrooms (latrine-style) were clean and had hand-sanitizer. This area has very little shade so wear sunscreen or some form of sun protection. The highway was audible given the close proximity of such a big road, but the sound of birds and the breeze helped to drown out the noise. This area is still open for public use as of 3/30/20 - access has not been restricted due to COVID-19.

Walking

Easy walking and peaceful. There are lots of side-trail options, all equally easy. Kaweah Oaks Preserve is best in the spring when it’s somewhat green. Great place to get kids into nature!

Many options and several loop trails....The Elderberry, Wild Rose and Grapevine have nice shade, lots of birds and lots of areas to sit and rest along the way....The Valley trail recently opened, it’s a bit longer that the other loops but you walk among the cows, which was a fun experience for the kids . Bathrooms are clean....Truly enjoyed the trails, did it two days in a row and the weather was perfect!

Pleasant walk with my dog. I wouldn’t say that it was anything special but we still had a nice time.

Flat trail with little to see as far as flora, but plenty of critters in the shaded areas near the back of the property. Great if you’re looking for something very easy. Would be good for walking the dog, or an easy trail run. Come in the morning because by noon the trail is quite hot.

This is as good as it gets for an easy trial. Lots of sign markers so you can’t get “lost”. Bathrooms are clean and accessible. Plenty of picnic area for sitting and just enjoying the natural environment around you. Some of the trails are closed due to maintenance. But Brian (the care taker) works hard to keep it all up. If you see him on the trail he’ll give you a cool bit of history about the area. Super friendly, chill dude. Lots of ground squirrels, lizards and bugs and if you’re lucky you can catch a coyote or bobcat and even raccoons in the trees. Great easy trail just bring sunscreen and water! Stay hydrated!

The longest trail closed and one trail really overgrown and hard to walk through. This is more of a family picnic place than anything. Definitely not a hike. more of a stroll.

The loop trail to the north is currently closed off as is the Swamp Trail. May be permanently due to cattle being brought in to the area for revegetation. But nonetheless, this is definitely a great trail for all ages and skill sets. But, if you take a trail leading to the north just past the rest rooms, that is the Fitness Trail, you may be able to see where the old trail used to be beyond the Fitness Trail.

Nature trips

Not really a hike but more of a nature walk. One of the bigger loops is closed. The Sycamore loop was open but not maintained and very overgrown. Two smaller loops were open and felt like an old growth forest. Some Angus cows and calves were on part of the preserve so lots of cow pies.

It was fun in the early spring with water running. There were maps at the trail head and animals/cows to see. It is very kid friendly, but views are limited. It is a good place to play in trees.

Good lil trail, scenery wise not much to look at because of the recent drought a lot of trees have dried out. Easy hike on a dirt trail.
