Jupiter and Juno Mountains are prominent peaks in the Sierra Pelona range. Jupiter is the taller of the two, and sister (wife?) peak Juno is slightly shorter. This trail follows a steep and slippery firebreak up to the summit of Jupiter Peak, where there is a bench and a summit register. Continuing west down to a saddle, you have the option of turning right and returning to the parking area, or heading up another firebreak to Juno. There are great views of Bouquet Reservoir, Green Valley, all the way up to the Tehachapi Mountains.

Great hike first thing in the morning. Once you get to the top it’s well worth the view.

Great climb of a prominent peak. It's a steep climb up the firebreak, or you can take a gentler route west from the parking area to the saddle, and then to Jupiter and Juno. Either way, you'll be rewarded with great views all around.
