Joshua Ranch Loop Trail.
The east side entrance of the trail is close due to construction, so you need keep going about 500 yards west to get to the dirt parking next to the Elizabeth Lake Road. Follow the fire road and it will take you to the top.
The trail is easy-moderate it has some elevation points but nothing serious any fitness level can make it, just bring water and a snack bar and you'll will be ok. At the beginning of the trail there isn't to much of an excitement, but once you get to the top you will see a bunch of trails that people has made this might confuse you a little bit but just pick one and stick with it, all these trails end up into the fire road, watch where you stops because there are a pretty good size ants that start to climb up on you very quick. Once at the top if you see North you will see the Antelope Valley, the Aqueduct, the city of Palmdale and far away the Tehachapi mountains (there are very good view spots to look at).
Overall the trail is good for those who wants to get his cardio back you can run, hike, bike and you can bring your dog

Nice little secret in the AV. Back side of the hill is pretty boring to look at, but the other side overlooking Palmdale has a nice view. The portion of the trail I did was pretty easy - a little elevation gain but nothing strenuous. Lots of rabbits around the trail and ANTS!!! Make sure to look where you're standing when you stop moving. I didn't see any snakes on this outing, but would expect there's quite a few in this area, so keep your eyes peeled. It was 90 degrees when I started at about 6:45pm but a 10-15mph breeze made it comfortable. The overlook point was beautiful just before sunset, but I didn't stay until the sun actually set because I didn't want to hike back to my car in the dark. All in all - 3 stars. Would do again because I'm an AV resident. Not worth traveling to visit.

It was a challenging hike. But the view and the workout was so worth it. Although I felt like I was dying I will do it again.

Nice views from the Portal Ridge overlooking the Antelope Valley. Good place to go for a quick hike or ride close to Palmdale.
