i loved it!! and if you aren’t wanting to hike or walk with kids there’s so many other stuff to do here as well. there’s, a zoo, horseback riding, there’s a train! overall i think this was the best place i’ve visited so far. it’s great! :) highly recommend it
The Irvine Regional Park is more suited for those that want to have a picnic, have a casual stroll, and/or read a book. The terrain is mostly dirt (with lots of horse poo on the trail), and a combination of dirt & paved cement. It is a very easy walk; having said that I saw that there is a higher elevation trail that we could have explored. There are many trails to explore so I won't be running back to this one too soon.
Huge park with lots to do. Don't expect a true nature trail or hike unless you venture out from the perimeter of the park.
parked in lot 2 and started on the horseshoe trail, which led me back around the paved one...yawn. Then I came back to where I parked and went in the opposite direction on roadrunner trail and ended up crossing into Santiago oaks and going way up to the top of a hill which was an awesome view and perfect meditation spot. like!
Beautiful trail and excellent on a slow Monday.
Always enjoy going to Irvine Regional Park, this time of year it's still not too busy. It's an easy loop and we love letting the dog play in the grass. Later in the year it gets pretty crowded on the main thoroughfare but there is lots of little trails to go play on.
Easy hike

Great place for a weekend MTB ride. Typically light trafficked. Can get pretty hot so make sure you have plenty of water. Can get pretty tight in some spots. All around fun ride, highly recommend it.
Short and sweet for a family hike on a weekend or holiday or a peaceful break by yourself!
Short and sweet on the horseshoe trail. The park is amazing!
Very nice park. The trail even though steep in the beginning, once you reach the top the ridge, the views are awesome.
Irvine Regional is a great to get a good work out. I consider myself a beginner. Climbs are exceptional, make it as long as you want it, there is a good amount of trails to switch it up a bit. You can make it as long as you want it, connects with Santiago Oaks. Will go back.
Did some mountain biking around the trails here this afternoon. It was easy but like others say, you can make it a bit more difficult. Very nice during late afternoon. Saw a bunch of bunnies and a rattle snake!
This is a great area to walk around and enjoy the scenery. It truly is only as hard as you make it. Most of the trails are paved and it takes you in a giant loop of the entire park. It's a great trail to take kids and dogs along. It costs $3-5 per car to go into the park but it is definitely worth it. It is more of a nature walk than a hike.
I've done this like tree times and every time I love it, it is always fun and it can be as challenging as you make it, I'll do it again next summer.
decent trials .... its as hard as you make it
did the puma trail which connect to the horseshoe loop...it was hard at first since it was inclining...going down was a bit rocky and steep...have the most fun and you can relax on there zoo which is 2 dollar per person...
Great ride! There is a loop I do around the entire park including a nice climb to robbers peak. Not the hardest trail ever, but very fun. Watch out for snakes, I see them almost every ride.
Very nice hike. We did the Horseshoe Loop trail. Very small climbs but nice views of the surrounding hills. It was a bit loud as the trails got closer to the park. The most exciting part was seeing a snake slither away from us. I think it was a rattlesnake by the looks of its tail. No harm done.
This is a great for a hike specially if you are a beginner.
