Super easy to find, the first part was the “hardest” part and that’s only because of the snow that had turn into ice. Such beautiful views once you get to the top, such a great easy trail we went at 8:30 and we ran into one other group and it was easy enough to social distance!
This is a great and easy hike with amazing views! I went near the end of the day to catch all of the colors of the sunset, and they were SO WORTH IT!! On the way back just before sunset, make sure you find the bench near the start of the trail overlooking the mountain range. it's not called Inspiration Point for nothing! P.S. The visitors center at Grassy Hollow is closed!
This was a nice and easy hike. With most of the Angeles National Forest closed, we still wanted to escape the city and this was perfect.
Awesome trail with great views. Didn’t complete the whole thing because we brought the 2 year old this time but it was easy enough for her to hike as well
We had a great time with the family hiking from Inspiration Point to Glassy Hollow. Our 7 yr old was a champ and wasn’t hindered at all, while our 4 yr old had some difficulty toward the very end due to getting tired. We even hiked over 2 miles with our 2 yr old and he did so well, but was carried most of the way. Overall, my favorite part was seeing the High Dessert as well as the LA basin in one spot.
Only a 3 because it is crowded and noisy being it parallels Angeles Crest Highway a majority of the time. Grassy Hollow is OK, but definitely bugs were the downer on this one. Difficult to eat lunch with all of them swarming. But it's good to know there's life up here considering a normal winter FINALLY after so many dry seasons. The trail is in great condition, it is PCT after all. There were a lot of wildflowers for as late in the season as this, but beware, there was CONSTANT buzzing from bees suckling those flowers. Very nice views. When you get to the intersection of the paved road and PCT, look north, then look south. You can see the LA basin below to the ocean, the desert and Tehachapi's to the north and the dividing line between them, the mountains. Pretty cool view there.
Easy hike compared to the others around the area. Were able to take it nice and slow, enjoying the views without having to watch the trail so much. Lotta PCT hikers looking for rides at the trailhead and don’t realize Hwy 2 is closed ahead at Baden Powell.
Good trail. The most PCT hikers I've ever run across, maybe 25 in 2 hours of walking. Not a bad hike, and it's quick. Lots of trail options. Lots of school kids and busses. Good views. Very dry southern California forest (not a lot of trees or under-growth). Well maintained. Snow is pretty much gone. We combined this hike with Devil's Punchbowl loop, about a 1/2 hr's drive.
