went on a thursday evening for sunset. paid lot closes at 7:15pm and they lock the gate, so park on the street if you plan on being there later than that. street parking is free anyway vs $12 lot parking. not too many people on a weekday evening, and the views were amazing. i love this park and this loop takes you through so much different scenery: horses, nature trails with wild flowers and bunnies, ocean and malibu mansion views, city skylines, benches with motivational quotes, a cool old bridge in the canyons. highly recommend at sunset :)
This was my first time out to Will Rogers Park and it did not disappoint! Not very difficult, although the peak became slightly adventurous and exciting. When we descended we discovered the old Will Rogers stables and they were beautiful! Next time we’ll continue the trail further. It seems to go on and on!
good amount of up and down, nice views, mix of single track and fire road, quiet. nice! horses are a bonus :)
Amazing trail. Fun for kids too! Next time we will take our mountain bikes.
A great hike with some nice views of LA and Santa Monica. It can be pretty crowded up to Inspiration Point, but if you continue on to Backbone Trail, there are a lot less people.
Will Rogers is a nice park with a ventilated bathroom. It can be a bit busy in the beginning of the trail near the parking lot but gets less crowded the further you hike in. Nice to get some air and movement here but you'll still feel painfully aware that you're in the city. Of note are the horseback riders texting on their smartphones. That's a head scratcher.
Pretty much all flat, so great trail for some fresh air and sunshine when you don’t want too much of a challenge.
Great hike, amazing ocean and city views, partly shaded, good mix of flat and steep parts. Went past bridges to peak just beyond, worth doing.
Nice trail, pretty easy with a few steep sections. Most people wearing masks. Beautiful views!
Fantastic views from inspiration point. Inspired me to run the rest of the trail despite taking so many wrong turns. Quite steep towards the out. Take a few breathes of you need to. Make sure to check which direction you need to go before starting the trail. Also quite narrow on some parts. Make sure to slow down, be polite, and mask up when passing others!
