Take the short, steep nature trail down to Indian Creek to view the falls. Trail is a bit rocky and leaves on the ground can make it very slippery, so watch footing. Signs along the trail identify native trees. There is also a small 'beach' and swimming hole, great for a summer dip!

Not much of a hike but an awesome swimming hole!

These are NOT the directions to the Indian Falls. that trail head is about a mile north, beyond the turnoff for the town. there is a large parking area and short designated trail to the falls. These directions are to a trail, to the left of a private drive. it is not clear if this is on private land. if you go for a mile along trail, parallel to river, you will reach an old ruined bridge and a beach. pretty cool but no falls there. no clue on the story of the bridge. looks like Olympic (now the private drive) crossed the river long ago. now on verge of total collapse.

Short easy hike to a cool swim spot

Powerful. The directions did not take us to the exact location. One more road away. SO many wild flowers.

there's a big rock for someone's house a bit to the right of the parking area. there is also a wood barrier with a "private property" sign attached to it blocking the help road. look to the left and you'll see a trail. there's a 3 foot burm (hump) at the start of the trail. Just follow it down to the river. frost covered rock and a little moss covered area are interesting.

There's a nice railing on the last descent of the trail, making it easier to balance on the way down. The waterfall was running beautifully. The water was brisk, but not too cold. There's a few trail signs identifying trees and plants.

June 4th: i have never seen so much water at this location. The water temp is brisk, but you get used to it. The current is fast and poor swimmers should not try to swim across to the jumping rocks. Otherwise, it is wonderful to see so much water.

Born and raised in Plumas County, I can tell you for sure this is a great trail and NOT on private property.
2017 is one of the best years to view the falls due to maximum flow in Indian Creek!
Please respect this place and pack out your trash, etc. Thanks!

Beautiful little hike, somewhat steep but short. Lots of people bring dogs so a leash is necessary. Great swimming hole in the summer, but quite popular. No facilities, so plan ahead.... And plan to pack out any trash you bring in as well.

We did this a few years ago. It is a very nice area and easy trail. You can get very close to it in a vehicle and then it is just a short walk.
