Steady, well-paced "out and back" trail from the top of the Mount Lowe motorway (and tunnel) all the way down to Idlehour campground. Most people probably do the opposite route - from Pasadena up through Henninger Flats and then to Idlehour - but this is the reverse route going downhill first and then uphill on the way back. Except for traversing up and around Mount Markham, the elevation change is relatively steady and moderate - nothing too steep. It's a long trek, but the rewards are peace and solitude since not many take this route. Lots of animal droppings too, which means not many people come this way. The trail is well-maintained with only a few trees to hobble over, but it looks like trail maintenance is actively being done.
