views are nice at the peak and there's a teepee. Wear pants for sure as the path is pretty overgrown especially the bit from the power lines to the peak. I started at 9am and was at the peak around 10 taking a couple breaks along the last section with the false peaks. you're going to be in the sun unless you start early but I didn't see anyone until my way back down towards the bottom. I also had a lot of fun driving on the road leading to this one.

The mountain views are very pretty and there are a little bit of wildflowers. This hike is mostly in the sun and uphill on the way there. Wear long pants because there's areas where it can get rual and there's a lot of tall bushes.

This trail was an ok trail. The views were nice. The trail from the highway to the power lines was an overgrown fire road. From the power lines to the summit, the trail was very small, steep, and overgrown. Make sure to wear pants for this peak. On the first false peak, there were a ton of flying ants so that was pretty annoying. I just had to bag this peak.

I started with this 4.5 mi hike to Hoyt Mountain to the water tank. Decided I didn’t have enough time to complete the entire hike with the sun setting in an hour or so and didn’t have my headlamp. Turned around and did the 1 mi hike. Complete mistake. Keep with this trail. The other trail listed for Hoyt Mountain is not much of a trail. It’s going straight uphill with a whole lot of loose gravel. The 1 mi hike was very sketchy. The view was great but the terrain going uphill/downhill isn’t. STICK WITH THIS ONE!

I actually did the out and back from 2n79. it's a nice trail with great views. super close to the city and no one on the trail. There's a camp with wooden teepee at the top.
