Started out going clockwise, and got a great workout in. You are able to venture off the main trail to make your hike harder. Much steeper incline. It eventually will connect to the main trail head when you get to the top. The descent is completely washed out if you follow the AllTrails app. I took the only visible trail down. I recommend hiking La Tuna Canyon trail instead of attempting this one.

If you enjoy steep off trail climbing then this is for you on the clockwise version. There is a washed out area but there is still enough of the side left to make your way around this obstacle. While steep climbing is exhausting I always prefer it over steep declines where this surface would be veery easy to lose footing.

THIS TRAIL SHOULD NE REMOVED FROM ANY/ALL MAP APPS!! We did this whole loop today. The western half of this trail is extremely dangerous and not maintained at all. The heavy rainfall this year has destroyed most of the foot path and caused major overgrowth of the vegetation. This left us stranded on steep canyons with loose sand and knee high grass. We almost considered calling for help because we thought we couldn’t find a safe way to the road. Do not attempt this hike!!

Did about 1/2 the trail then came back. Very cool since recent fires have burned back alot of vegetation. Kinda looked like Mars in some places. Saw a few bikers, hikers w dogs, & 2 bike cops on electric bikes. Pretty neat. Some steep climbs, but not terrible.

I took the easy way up. But coming down was a different story. It was like the scorched trials. It was very Sandy and filled with loose dirt. Some of the path way on the side of the mountain disappears and you kind of have to walk on the wall of sand to get across. It spit me out on the side of the road down the street where I parked. Overall very fun and difficult.
