Rated 5 stars for the views! Great views of DTLA, Pacific Ocean and Hollywood Sign along the way. Steady climb up for first 1.5 miles, but very doable. Rest of hike is pretty flat along the ridge, and downhill on the way back. Wide path, but it does get crowded quickly. Wear a mask or bandana! We started about 7:45am and were done by 9:30. Happy Trails!

This is a great hike. Nothing but up hills and yes stay hydrated. No shade here. The sun was burning today so great way to get a tan while hiking

Good trail. You’re doing an incline almost the entire way up (2.5 miles) in no shade. That was the majority of the workout. We did it in the afternoon after lunch and only a few cars were parked in the small lot. Nice views of downtown and great view of the sign, right underneath it. Not too crowded.

Second time hiking this trail. This time we went off route to go see the sign from the front which is about 1 mile detour then we came back the same route to follow the course. On Wednesday morning, absence of sun helped us alot. Great Hike. Park is open no reservations required. Go Early, go all the way inside parking lot, most likely you will find space in the small lot.

Definitely make sure to take lots of water! I love how spacious the trail is!

Exposed trail with a steady incline ending with a nice view of the Hollywood sign. Definitely recommend going early and bringing water. It was a pretty hot hike around 11am. Saw about 12 people using horses for transportation and their (the horses) poop was pretty frequent.

Good trail. Bring plenty of water. Beautiful views of the sign at the top. Great time with the family.

This is a pretty wide, easy trail. I’d suggest going in the morning because it does get hot. We took the trail all the way behind the sign and then back around in front of the sign and with both combined my phone logged 7 miles. It’s dog friendly. There’s some horse poop, but not an overwhelming amount and not on the entire trail. Not much shade at all.

Great hike took us a little over two hours, not very difficult. Was not crowded, plenty of parking at 10:30am on a Wednesday (6.25).

Face coverings are mandatory in L.A. County (and the state). You're required to wear one when you're out of your home and interacting with people you don't live with — even outdoors. If no one is around, keep it in your pocket in case other humans appear. For runners, put one on when passing. The idea with cloth masks is to stop the virus from getting out, not in.

Great mostly dirt road trail-a gradual incline but could be tough for some. Very little shade but a few shady spots. We saw two groups of horseback riders and of course a few piles of horse poo. Saw a CA king snake and a rattlesnake on the side of the trail. Dogs on leash. Lots of birds. I felt like it was a good workout. Took two hours round trip.

So worth it! Climbing up looked like forever, but then again, I hiked with my 2.4 year old.. great workout, great view and an overall awesome experience!

Awesome trail with a great view of the hollwood sign! Just a little bit of uphill to get past will definitely be challenging on a hot day.

Such a great trail that gives a good little workout! Perfect trail to get in front of the Hollywood Sign! Once you get to the paved road, go left. There will be another fork in the road and you want to stay to the right and follow the trail! Only bummer about this trail is the horse poop. But it offered great views of the city!! I will be back!

Fun hike, really good for trail running, big wide trail in most places. I started at 7:20 am and found parking right near the beginning of the trail (by 8:45 am when I was leaving the parking was full all the way down the hill). Best part about going early is there is lots of shade on the trail (at least in June the way the sun is at this time of year). I got tired of wearing a mask and have been using a bandanna (I wet it before i go and that makes it really comfortable to wear and cooling). Lots of dogs on the trail. Nice to see people out.

Really trafficked trail. Did this one on a Saturday morning around 9-12. You have to share the path with people walking, running, bikers, and horses. The beginning has pretty steep inclines but after that the path is not too bad.

Popular trail on a Friday but not overly crowded and plenty of room to walk. Like that you can hike to the front and/or back of the Hollywood sign and get a photo. Epic views of la along the Ridgeline too for most of the hike. Tough but not gonna kill you. Dusty but hiking shoes not required.

Fun, big incline if you aren't used to a steeper incline for a length of time.

Steady uphill trail. Pretty nice but no shade. Make sure to bring lots of water!

It was such an easy and great hiking in the city. It has fair inclines. If you want to avoid crowds and extremely hard sunshine, I would recommend to start earlier than 9am.

It was the great hiking for those who enjoy outdoor and under sun especially. There are two different hiking trails which are easy and sort of moderate hiking. Overall, when you get to top of the mountain, you will get to see the breathtaking view of the whole LA and even to the Hollywood Sign. Overall, great hiking ! Note: Please make sure to apply Sunscreen

A good incline at the beginning. Smooth sailing about halfway in. Very nice view at the end. We took the nice route instead of going all the way behind the sign at the very top. I went with my 60 year old mother and she was huffin and puffin early before the incline is over
