Hike this a few weeks ago. Lots of spring flowers out . The trail was very rocky, so take some good shoes !!

As you can see there are several trails and lots of miles to hike. The Iron Canyon trail leads to an overlook of the Sacramento River. 'Jed's Overlook' (pictured)

This is not the best part of this area. If you take Jelly's Ferry road straight you will come to Oak Slough, gently rolling hills with views of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen. You can also go right at the fork and follow the road around to the Paynes Creek Rec Area and pick up the Yana Trail. The two sides actually connect now at Ink's Creek if you are looking for a full day trip.
