Great views! Nice short hike that has some elevation change to it. Lots of birds and other wildlife.

Nice little hike with great views!
Like other trails in this corner of JTNP, this has a different feel from the more iconic, touristy parts of the Park . It's a very picturesque and relatively short walk in the Little San Bernardinos above Yucca Valley, with some mild elevation gain on well-maintained stone stairs, lots of stunning views of the surrounding mountains, and plenty of scenic rocks and joshua trees. Very pretty stuff, and easily accessible without paying the ususal park entrance fee. Particularly great after a big snow storm.
Short hike up to amazing panoramic views of the mountains and valley at the midpoint. Snowed a couple of days before which added to the beauty.
Steep for my bum knee but worth if for the views!
Very quick hike with nice views at the peak halfway through
Loved this for a quiet early evening hike. Beautiful vegetation and rewarding views all along. Pair this with the short but steep South Peak trail across the parking lot for a great 2 mile hike!
Short & sweet
Great option for the hiker wanting a slight challenge with rewarding view! Loved learning from the nature trail markers along the way.
We love this trail!!! Awesome views provide an excellent reward for the hike up! In the spring, the wildflowers are usually abundant along the path and the view of San G is awesome with the snow peak visible.
Great trail for little hikers that don’t mind some climbing. Rock staircases are fascinating, and at 1.3 miles it won’t turn the kids off. Great views, great flora and great fauna.
Great nature hike

A fun relatively short hike. Family friendly - we hiked it in about an hour with 2 young children.
Fantastic hike!
Great!
Beautiful views, very well maintained
Great views!
Awesome trail for running- If you're not used to the trails out here, this one will be considered moderate. Enjoy!
Short and friendly for all ages but great panorama scenes and lots of wildflowers in spring. There are tortoises oh and the tortoises are hard to find and the coyotes will be hard, really really hard to find. And it is beautiful sight
I went the day after a storm and it was very windy and chilly, but it was still a great hike. It has several parts that are staircases made with rocks. This made the hike a bit easy except that I'm short, so some of the steps were a bit high for me. I LOVED the view on top. There are benches for those who want to take a break and take in the sight.
Camped out in Black Rock Canyon Campground, and took a quick trip up to Hi-View. This trail is also called the West Side Loop Trail, and is accessible right from the outskirts of the campground. The trail is VERY maintained, there are nice rock-luged stairs where the grade gets a little too steep. The view from the top is GREAT, although could sometimes be EXTREMELY windy/cold depending on season. It's the end of January, and our entire camping trip/hike was plagued by seriously high winds. There was a storm coming in, don't know if the had anything to do with it specifically, or if the area is randomly windy.
