This is a very well maintained trail. I don’t think it should be considered moderate. It was fairly easy.
I loved this trail. The parking fee was put to good use. Make sure you get parking permit ahead of time as they sell out. Restrooms were super clean, trail well marked and maintained, lots of cool lookout areas and bridges. This loop was fairly easy as it wasn’t too long and nothing super hard in terms of elevation.
first hike of the year.. we went on monday plenty of parking we did not get a reservation all dogs were on leashes yea !! weather was perfect a few horses too..a bit steep on the way back up the hill but it's a well maintained trail with benches to rest if need be easy access to water edge for a quick picnic everyone very friendly no cell service fyi
Get there early, I left by noon and the second parking lot was half full. No parking reservations required during the week (unless it's a holiday). No signal so make sure you reserve ahead of time if needed. Easy trail with a nice overlook of the waterfall. Some of the trails are used heavily by bikes so keep an eye out. Also a lot of horses. Unfortunately, lots of ticks on my dog even though he stuck to the trail. Too many ppl for my liking despite going on Tuesday morning
Drove all the way for almost two hours only to found out that they also require reservations during weekdays. The receptionist was a bit RUDE!!! At first he was gonna let me in for 2:30 reservation and have me park in the exit, because I was having hard time getting a reception and I didn’t want to block the exit way so I parked in the parking lot and I was gonna get into their system to pay for reservations, that receptionist guy came after me and said he will have me leave right now because I wasn’t supposed to be in the parking lot. I was like are you serious??? Like really! He was scared I was gonna sneaked in LOL what an excuse, I left quietly not worth to argue with.
Nice trail. Only muddy in spots. Not too many people on the smaller side trails, but a fair amount on the main gravel trail. Waterfall and streams were full and pretty.
Found 8 ticks on my dog after this hike, so won’t be coming back here. Sad because the hike itself was enjoyable in terms of its views and having enough inclines to make it fun.
This is practically my backyard so I’m a little partial. It’s beautiful, especially in the early spring and fall seasons. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends so I steer clear. If you’re not an experienced hiker/runner (or not in fairly good shape) be aware the decent into the canyon is a little deceiving. You’ll need to climb back out after your hike. A handful of times (mostly in the summer) EMS has to come rescue people who misjudged the steepness of the initial incline. Stay on 7 pools vista trail to see views of the falls and the “7 pools”
Shaded trail. Watch out for bikers on the trail. Dog friendly. **Make sure to reserve parking online**
Took the Poppy Trail down (loved the shade!) and the gravel road back up, as it was blistering hot and I wanted to get back to my car! Seven loops Trail was moderate, though no actual falls on that particular trail, so that was a bit disappointing as I was expecting there to be falls on that portion based off of feedback here. Anyway, it was fun. Will go earlier in the day next time and check out some of the other trails! No issues parking on a Monday afternoon.
This trail was fun. We got to the trail before 7am on a Wed morning. It was pretty empty, and weather was perfect. It opened at 530, had we known, we probably would have gone earlier. Only did 1/2 and was perfect, as it was starting to get warm around 10. We brought my 74 yr old dad and he had a rough time on the way back as its just about all up hill. Would be fine for younger kids also. Great views, & pretty waterfalls!
