Not for the faint of heart! Kind of fun, but wouldn’t do again. Trail hard to follow and quite overgrown in areas. Poison oak? Had to butt to heels down some parts.

Tremendously changes in height against a slippery slope. It was a reckless decision to bring kidos here :) The trail itself is quite fun.

Super steep on the way up but the view with the cows is awesome. The downhill trail through the creek is gorgeous and a totally must see!

Went with my two semi-young kids, and both really enjoyed this trail (especially the creek crossings). My daughter (the younger of the two) did accidentally splash a foot down into the creek at one point, but quickly forgot about it. Also, as you start to make your way up from the creek, the inclines get very steep. I’ve got good shoes for it, but both kids were continually sliding in the dirt with their regular shoes and requiring lots of assistance getting up those segments. Even so, a really lovely and interesting trail with great views at the top. Would absolutely come back to do it solo as a trail run, and would even bring the kids for another hike here sometime.

We took a different trail then intended and had a blast. Beautiful, good elevation, a little muddy but that made it fun! Also, way more crowded than expected. Especially considering the coronavirus, would be best an off day.

Went clockwise, uphill was pretty steep, good to have good shoes with some profile. First half was rather boring on broad paths, with some nice views to the east. Never offered a view to the bay though. Some cows grazing with their calves. Best was the 2nd half going down along the creek, good shoes will help. Sometimes steep, crossing the creek 15 times, and 3 times major trees to walk around or step through. The 2nd half seemed to be a good downhill bike trail for experienced bikers, brake before the downed trees!

It was my first time hiking along the creek. Usually I follow Ringtail Cat the whole way up to Madrone. The creek trail was fun; the path forward wasn't always obvious and I had to cross the water a bunch of times. The trail was a little overgrown at parts and there were a ton of mosquitos.

This is a great hike. After the rain it was extremely slippery and we all 4 slipped and fell in the mud, it was so much fun but we averaged 2 hours. Should be a lot shorter in dry conditions.

This trail gets very steep in sections once above the shade. We turned around at the Madrone intersection, 1 mile up. Then 1 mile back to TH. AT recorded el gain as 660' in the 1 mile up. Good views of Mt Diablo up at the ridge.
