the first half was good, it was part of the hellyer county park but the second half was in the road which did not have any one around .. if you wanted to do this trail keep going straight and loop in the same route
Beautiful day! Lots of people out, but fairly easy to social distance. Would bring a mask. Nicely shaded during the first half, second half goes onto a sidewalk and has a lovely view of the SJ skyline and fall trees. Watch for bikers.
Lively park with a gorgeous lake. We took a long loop on the trail that runs through and then a detour on Hellyer Ave with some stunning views of San Jose. Park entrance fee is usually $6, but we went on a free entrance day. Recommend for families and others looking for an easy, mostly paved trail for all ability levels.
Good portion with shades and I followed the trail direction. It took me to a commercial area with good elevation to have a good hike!
Good outting for a morning hike...from Coyote Trail Staging area. Walked North to Hellyer Park and around Cottonwood Lake back down to Staging area. Great leaser walk. Lots of bicyclist though; but it was a weekend and somewhat expected. No real issue just constantly looking over our shoulders for cyclist. All were very cordial and for the most part gave us heads up that they were passing. Recommended if looking for a peaceful inviting community walk.
This trail is a nicely paved trail. Nothing crazy. Not many ups and downs as long as you stay on the paved trail. The loop that pertains to this particular loop is actually unmarked. There is a small path going off loop that leads to a parking lot and a street that goes out to hellyer road. I missed it and had to turn around. The uphill is quite steep for a run so if you are new to running it might be best to stay on the paved trail leading from the actual park.
I love this to run, the little “Lake” is pretty, went around once more to complete my workout.
