Pros: Solitude, I don't think many people use this trail Friday July 17 I didn't see another soul. No mosquitos or poison oak I could see. Cons: Best views are at the beginning of the trail so there is really no payoff at the end. You are just hiking down towards the San Joaquin River gorge and then stop short of actually seeing the river. Poorly marked and lots of big logs to climb over. I'm sure there are nicer trails nearby but if you really appreciate being alone it might be worth it to check out. There is one brook to fill up water half way down.

Hiked this trail to get to the French Trail. It got hard to follow near the French Trail junction. There was one small brook with water to cross. We were not sure where the trail got its name. The portion that we did, between Minarets Rd and French Trail, was unremarkable. Mostly downhill towards the San Joaquin River Gorge.
