The AllTrails map of Hellmans loop is outdated. There is no longer the circular loop shown on the map. (As of December 2019). We followed it exactly and it came to a permanently closed trail that was completely overgrown. Tried a different way to continue further (going past the big antennas but there was no outlet to Greenleaf. Huge unpassable fence with cameras and a million no trespassing signs. So had to double back. You can still do a different loop Side Fire Trail on the way out and Mariposa Trail on the way back. A really nice place to Hike.

Walked up jogged down

I have done this hike 3 times now. Most recently I have done this hike the last two weekends. With plenty of hills this is a great cardio workout! It ends up being about a 6-mile hike when you take into account how far away you have to park. )The actual location has only about 10-15 parking spaces that are usually filled) The trail is very crowded on the weekends, but wide enough to be comfortable. :) My suggestion is to go early (Before 8am) because it gets hot and dry pretty quickly! Happy hiking!
