Hell Hole Reservoir OHV Trail is a 7.9 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Truckee, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

nice trail... not difficult (not close to be as hard as Fordyce/Barrett lake/Rubicon/slick rock trails). fun to ride. no winch needed going down and up the trail.

I ran this trail to the “ tree root- rock garden” and turned around it is most difficult there and you are not coming back out without a winch. Trees in area bare cable marks from inconsiderate people. Please use straps around trees other people need them there.. not a great trail .. M

First time on this trail and we were all pleasantly surprised at it. Nice drive, a few good obstacles, and a great destination to end at Hell Hole Reservoir. This was just a day trip, but would make a great camping overnight or more.

Fun trail, great views. Camping at trails end, on the water is unforgettable.
