Trail access is via Burnside Lake Road (All-wheel drive and/or good clearance recommended). There is a turnaround on the left and the trail goes up past the sign that says "dead end". This trail seemed more like a 4 wheel drive road than a trail and we indeed get overtaken by some people in RZRs. It has some really steep spots, not your typical switchbacks found on better hiking trails. Much of the trail is exposed (no shade). Great views from the top, even just at the saddle and due to the tower on the top my daughter had 4 bars on Verizon. On our way back over Carson Pass we pulled out at the top lookout and could see where we had been. On the rating - 5 for views.
