Hatchet Creek and Lion Slide Falls is a 0.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Big Bend, California that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

Hmm... The easily hikable portion was about 150 yards long and after that the trail became so steep and obstacle strewn even the dog freaked out and didn't want to continue... saw the falls from a distance but never made it there.

Swimming and you can jump off of the falls! I wore my hiking boots and the water was above my ankle to get to the falls. Worth it! Water is cold! There is a hiking trail but we went off trail to falls. ! My son whose 7 hiked through the water too. It can be a little slippery. What a beautiful site to see! Highly Recommend! I tried to check in but no service.
