Trail was in great shape. Snow only on about 1/2 of it and easily manageable in hiking shoes. Road to TH is slick in spots. Might want 4WD

BackpackingIcy

Don’t trust AllTrails weather, it will be 20 degrees colder than what it says here. But if you’re backpacking, which you should, sleep in the hollowed out sequoia called “log cabin”, there may be a snowman waiting to you. His name is Henry

HikingGreat!

Was out there Thursday 10/29 at sunrise. Great hike as I was getting close to the end ran into lots of big fresh bear poop on the trail. Ran into the bear where the trails split heading up to the parking lot. He was standing scratching on a tree. I was by myself so just kept walking slowly, then picked up the pace once I turned the corner. An overall fantastic morning.

Beautiful loop in and out of sequoia groves with interspersed nice views. The second half has most of the elevation gain, but it’s gradual so not too difficult. When we hiked this we passed only a handful of people in 4 hours.

Amazing hike through groves and groves of Giant Sequoia. Fairly moderate hike, just remember elevation, somewhere between 5000 and 7050. Beautiful streams, waterfalls, log bridges, dogwoods starting to change to autumn colors. Early morning hike, first one through, some spider webs, but so quiet and peaceful, almost did the whole hike without seeing another soul. It was nice to hike without pulling the mask up the whole time. People at mile 6 and mile 8, plenty of parking. Need to be on the lookout for bears this time of year. Evidence of bears and plenty of wildlife along the trails, but only encountered a few squirrels and birds. I did the hike clockwise, the sugar pine part of the trail has some zig zags up the mountain, but overall very moderate. Highly recommend it. So many Giant Sequoias!! Such a massive tree!! Always great to enjoy Gods creation and nature.

A stunning hike! We hiked it clockwise on 9/24 and had the entire trail to ourselves. Pretty smoky still, especially on the sugar bowl side. The sequoia forest is amazing - highly recommend.

The trail was amazing! Spent a night in the woods with a wilderness pass. The only bad thing this trip was the amount of smoke due to the fires.

Pretty good trail. The views weren't the best because of the haze from the fires.

Beautiful trail with lots to offer ... huge sequoias, mountain views, wildflowers & some stream crossings. The sugar bowl portion was a bit overgrown in areas.

Loved this trail for the peaceful quiet, off the beaten path a little bit. Giant Sequoias all around, it’s a great hike!

Absolutely stunning trail, but it is hard sometimes because of the sequoia’s cones - they are very sturdy to step on, you can hurt your ankle or slip. And we did not see the Fallen Goliath :(

A few friends and I hiked the 11 mile loop on 2/29/2020. Although the road to the trail head is open, we were not able to access the parking area due to fallen trees. Lots of debris and fallen trees on the trail but still usable. Didn't see anyone else on the entire trail and only a few patches of snow to cross. I have done this hike many times and always enjoy the view.

The trail was nice, complete with a couple of beautiful mountain range views and tons of giant sequoia. The only major negative was the bugs. They were non-stop the entire time. With bug spray it would have been fine — come prepared and you’ll love it.

Beautiful sights, an amazing workout. Got stung by a wasp on mile 6, lots of mosquitos so bring bug spray and bathe it in! It started to get hotter/ humid the longer we took. Nonetheless it was a super fun hike. But by mile 8, I was somewhat over the experience and just wanted to finish. Hardest part was the climb to the parking lot!
