We only went less than half way since it was a lot of uphill.

Great trail with some good views. Partially shaded, which is a nice bonus for the location and time of year. The trail is really well maintained. Trail runners were perfect. More runners than hikers this morning, as this park is great for running.

Minimal inclines, mostly flat. I brought my hiking boots and had a steady easy pace. Next time I’m definitely bringing my trail running shoes, it’s perfect for running here. Parking lot is open during shelter in place and plenty of parking spots available. So cool to see families riding their horses on the trails. Only downside is no dogs allowed. Hope this helps. Enjoy!

Miwok to Hardy Canyon to Murphy then back to Miwok. RT 7.23 miles. Beautiful trail but hot today. Not a lot of shade in most spots especially on Hardy canyon and Murphy. Lots of people out there today. Saw a few big groups, lots of trash, even a coffee plastic cup someone wedged into the rocks. RANT: If you’re going to use the trails, please take your garbage with you. I’m tired of picking up other people’s trash!

HikingClosedMuddy

Trail closed about 3.5 miles in. Contra Costa Water District says it’s because of Golden Eagle nesting from February through June. It was raining all day so the trail was muddy. Looking forward to getting out there once it’s dried out and open

Left a custom walking stick on this trail yesterday. Congrats to whoever finds it.

Great winter hike I've done many times. Hardly anyone there. My gf and I once followed a kit fox on the trail for a 1/2 mile while he constantly looked over his shoulder at us. Pretty funny...
