worth getting off the bike path. tread lightly when passing by the encampments of homeless brethren. you might see quail. note: do not set your navigation to direct you to the recorded starting point. that is in an apartment complex and gate not guaranteed to be open. from the freeway, after taking the right turn to river access road, go straight to the regional parking lot.

Really nice trail. Recommend wearing a mask, most of those I saw out were not.

Awesome trail, little sight seeing from the 2 bridges when you cross the American river, little traffic with bikers but it was enjoyable trail.

Walkers and runners need to be aware they must walk on the left side of the bike trail and walk off the pavement whenever possible.

Heavy traffic, trail keeps connecting to main road where people run and bike. A lot of homeless sites, very dirty trail. Better for bicycle rides.

Road bikingGreat!

Awesome trails for cyclists. The only downside are the pedestrians who don’t understand they should walk on the left side of the trail so they can make eye contact with oncoming cyclists to avoid unnecessary accidents (even though such directions are painted all over the trail). And pedestrians who walk down the middle of a heavily used BIKE trail and wonder why cyclists yell out warnings to them.

Walked about 1/4 Mile from the Howe entrance and ran into a pack of stray dogs..... Two pit mixes and a large German Shepard. The large one ran towards my dog (a Morkie) so I picked him up and yelled and stomped at the dog.... He slowed down and then they ran into the woods. This path has been taken over by the homeless population and is not safe.

Very lovely trail for the area with a decent amount of shade. But be careful, the cyclists don't care about anyone's safety

Really nice trail. Enjoyed the scenery and the walk. The only downside about it is the bikers. Some can be very rude and have no filter.

Great trail! Bike, pet and children friendly. Would recommend to everyone. There’s a couple of water stations and shaded benches under trees to rest on. Took me around an hour and a half to walk the 5 mile trail.
