This easy loop has beautiful scenery, minimal climbing, and is easy to access. It fills the need for family-friendly trails that can be enjoyed by young children and people who appreciate a non-strenuous outdoor walk. It is a perfect warm-up for acclimation to the elevation. One reviewer states that this loop trail is “nothing special.” There is a beautiful lake, some lush meadows, wildflowers, a forested, shaded section, and a pleasant walk through a campground, with lake access near the marina and community park. This is an enjoyable walk.

Nice loop. Parts are on private property so be aware. Some light scrambling near the rope swing.

Trail is nothing special. Don’t waste your time but if you feel like this is the trail for you then make sure you complete it counter clockwise.

It was an okay hike. Trailhead starts near the library/kids park when your pulling into the Gull Lake Marina. Although, if you park down by the boat launch that’s where the trail will end up spitting you out. We saw an owl which was cool but you do walk on a dirt road with private property cabins toward the end.

Trail could use a few more trail signs. Otherwise good way to spend a leisure afternoon. And yes. definitely bring some bug spray

Great views at the beginning of the trail. The last part of the trail ends at private property, so you need to find your way out. Walked up to the road to finish.

Recommended for people staying in June Lake. Chance to see wild life too if you are early in the morning. It took less than an hour for the hole loop.

Nice easy loop trail to get acclimated to the elevation. Beware of mosquitoes even in the afternoon sun! We were told they just hatched. Pretty view of the lake.

The trail was easy enough, but not 1.1 miles as was stated. It is a 3 mile trail, don't go into it expecting a 1 mile hike.

Nice easy hike, could jog it if you want! Have to hike some on the road in front of cabins- so not real earthy!

This is a nice little hike around the lake....very easy. However, not a lot of shade so probably not something to do in the middle of summer unless it was done in the morning. Half the hike is through sagebrush.

This is a beautiful hike around Gulch lake. We were there in the off-season and had the loop to ourselves. It does go through the front of some cabins and in a campground where there really isn’t a trail. If you keep walking through these parts, you will catch up with the trail on the other side.

This is an easy and pleasant trail, especially in the fall when the aspen leaves are golden! It can be done in an hour or so and is kid/dog friendly. It’s pretty.

Mostly flat, mostly dirt. Great morning jog with just the right amount of uphill to get the blood pumping.

Great hike with the kids 4,7 and 2 year old in a pack. Easy enough for everyone and done in an hour. More mosquitoes though than I expected away from the water.

Nice easy hike around the lake with little info markers along the way you can follow with the paper map at the trailhead to find out more about this amazing ecosystem! Fun and educational!

An easy walk/hike with some shorter climbs that are manageable. Convenient parking, and a very informative trail map was offered at the start. Varying terrain, lovely meadows, marshes, aspen and conifer groves, and views of the lake, mountains, and rock formations. Towards the end, you walk through a quiet campground.

Very pretty and easy loop. There are a couple bluffs you can climb along the way if you want some great views. About 1/4 of the trail is on roads. This is a good first trail to hike if you're not yet acclimated to the altitude.
