Guajome Regional Park is located in the coastal community of Oceanside and has a little bit of everything that San Diego County offers. A developed 33 sites campground offers partial hook ups, a caravan pavilion, shade and afternoon ocean breezes. Two day use areas with new playgrounds, a basketball court and lots of green lawn are ideal for picnicking or just relaxing. Two ponds attract a wide variety of migratory birds and serve as home to a variety of fish that will test the skills of any angler. 4.5 miles of park trails meander through diverse Southern California habitats such as woodlands, chaparral, wetlands, and mixed grasslands. Wedding ceremonies can also be held in a small gazebo that overlooks the lake. 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the park is close to many entertaining and historical points of interest. Whether you like to camp, picnic, hike, fish, bike, nature watch or plan that special ceremony, youll find Guajome Regional Park an ideal place to visit year round.

Just a walk Around a camping ground. Nothing interesting or special. Noted poison oak. Almost everywhere

Great trail, super easy. Perfect nature walk with exotic plants and little bits of information about them all along the trail. Also, if you’re looking to catch some sun, this is the perfect trail. Some areas have shade though depending on your route.

Great urban hike for when East County gets too hot. Park is open but parking lot is closed. Street parking can be found on Guajome Lake Rd. The east circle is a very wide path (no problem with social distancing). No trees on this end. The west circle has some shade and a narrow path. Bathrooms (which were spotless) are open but picnic tables cannot be used. When the parking lot is open the $3 is well worth it for the city keeps the park well maintained. I see reports of bugs but that was probably due to recent rains and the wetland areas. No bugs today. The April showers certainly brought the May flowers. Park has 4 geocaches. Since we couldn’t use the picnic tables, after our hike we drove 3 miles down the road to Mission San Luis Rey and enjoyed our lunch.

1.5 miles of the trail were closed today likely for too flooding. A little mud but nothing to worry about on the part we completed. Road noise, reasonably easy walk.

The trail was super muddy which is fine because it’s been raining but there were multiple sections that were closed down so we couldn’t follow the trail. There’s a $3 fee to park. I’m sure it would be lovely when it’s dried out and open.

Very nice trail. We hiked for 2 hours and covered most of the trails. Trails could have been better marked especially since they crisscrossed, but an overall enjoyable experience.

Awesome trail! Had to pay a small fee to get into the park but it wasn't a problem. My dog enjoyed the trail, and liked the lake. We saw a few ducks on the lake as well. It's also stroller-friendly.

The first bit around the lake was pleasant but the rest was a bit dusty and desolate. Nice signs about plants. Now we know about poison ivy. If there’s three, let it be!

The trail was good. Very easy for anyone whom has never hiked or walked long trails before. Only thing I recommend is to bring water, a hat, and some sunblock.

Zero signage and several overlapping routes make it easy to get lost.

I love this place. Easy to get to, and easy to forget you are in the middle of Vista.
