Getting There

Guajome Regional Park is located in the coastal community of Oceanside and has a little bit of everything that San Diego County offers. A developed 33 sites campground offers partial hook ups, a caravan pavilion, shade and afternoon ocean breezes. Two day use areas with new playgrounds, a basketball court and lots of green lawn are ideal for picnicking or just relaxing. Two ponds attract a wide variety of migratory birds and serve as home to a variety of fish that will test the skills of any angler. 4.5 miles of park trails meander through diverse Southern California habitats such as woodlands, chaparral, wetlands, and mixed grasslands. Wedding ceremonies can also be held in a small gazebo that overlooks the lake. 8 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the park is close to many entertaining and historical points of interest. Whether you like to camp, picnic, hike, fish, bike, nature watch or plan that special ceremony, youll find Guajome Regional Park an ideal place to visit year round.

From I-5: Take Highway 76 east 7.5 miles to Guajome Lake Rd. Turn right on Guajome Lake Rd. and proceed to the park main entrance. From I-15: Take Highway 76 west for 10 miles to Guajome Lake Rd. Turn left at Guajome Lake Rd and proceed to the park main entrance. Note there are also smaller park entrances on North Santa Fe Rd. for other starting points, not to mention various trailhead/entrances on all sides of the park.

Fun trail would be a great walk on a cold day. I wish water levels were higher for a nicer environment, still plenty of beautiful views. Another plus there are informational signs all along the trail a definite must see

Didn’t do the whole thing, but was still a nice easy stroll with pretty lake views and a fair amount of shade. FYI there is a $3 fee to park so you need to have bills/coins

WalkingGreat!

Came for a walk with my friend and her dog. It was okay for walking. Not a lot of shade. The camp grounds looked really nice.

I saw some frogs and a goose. Really cool easy hike only downside is there is a lot of strange skat.

Nice wide trail, with little rolling hills throughout. Not much shade on the loop I did, which my little dog didn’t appreciate much but there are trees sporadically along the trail with benches or picnic tables in case you do need to rest or just want to sit and be quiet. Will be back to explore other portions of the trail.

Nice little walk, city is all around, but you don't see it. Great nature walk, nice and easy. My GPS recording was going haywire, it was nice to have a map, the trail is easy to follow, but there are many side paths which could get confusing if you've never been here before.

This trail runs through campsites in the Guajome County Park. The trail is wide and heavily trafficked. There are multiple places where you can stop and enjoy your surroundings. This is a great place to bring young children. There are areas where they can feed ducks and the trail is flat enough that you could bring a stroller.
