Beautiful trail and surrounding views, especially at golden hour. The sunset and oaks were spectacular. A bit of mud at the midpoint that could cause slippery conditions but otherwise a great moderate hike.

Very busy with large groups on a Saturday morning but a nice medium hill climb and good views of the valley. Lots of dogs and wide trails

Nicely tucked away behind an Almaden neighborhood. You know as they say, the best trails are in your own backyards! This is a solid trail for a run! Great overall terrain. Wide open straightaways, surrounded by a few zig zag single tracks but mainly wide, clean trails. I’d recommend this for all skill levels, however there’s about 1/4 mile ROCKY UP HILL but you can choose to take a different route to avoid it if needed! It’s pretty DRY pre-winter (and it’s fire season) but it looks like there’s a lot of run offs for water during and post winter. I ran today’s trail but stopped to take these pics just shy of 30 min. I walked the trail last week in about an hour with a intermediate hiking buddy. We’re hosting our hiking club here next week with all kinds of skill levels. So I’ll have to update with another post and pics from that. Hope to see you on the trails soon Amigos!

lots of people at 9am on a Sunday but really beautiful and the left length!

Great loop! Not too steep, no loose dirt. Really nice views from the back ridge and some well placed benches to rest. 5/5!

Nice trail, lots of people, get there early for parking in the neighborhood. Signs are not super great for the loop.

Nice for exercise and walking your dogs but by far the busiest trail I have hiked on in the South Bay Area.

Easy. Lots of shade

It was a nice hike some light incline, plenty of shade and wild flowers during spring time. It’ also offers some nice views. I would definitely come again.

A great morning hike, has a decent amount of ups and downs, views of SJ and even downtown in some spots. Parking is on side roads and the trail is decently crowded on weekends. Sunny trail mostly with a couple shaded areas. A lot of mining history to see and ruins of some mines.
