Description
Waypoints (0)

This trail begins at the Griffith Park Visitor Center and heads up a gravel fire road and follows a wide single track that climb and drop down a number of steep ridges. The trail intersects and follows an asphalt road that leads to the very top of Griffith Park, right above the Hollywood sign. Be aware of hot weather as there is little to no shade on this hike. Bring water, and hike early or late in the day, if possible. The views are worth it!

This trail was awesome Steep uphill and slick with the dry clay. It was a bit brown at the time. View point was great and the tree with all the sentimental findings and books was really amazing. Windy day so the American flag was blowing beautifully. A nice burner for sure !

Apparently this should be called the Griffith Peaks Single Trak. Hit every peak in the park except Cahuenga (closed). And if there's ever a choice between a road and a deer trail, it's the deer trail. But it was fun. Did it in 4 hrs, with a 10 minute stop at the Sign.

Hot. Lots of elevation. Totally worth it. Wore running shoes ; wished I’d had trail shoes. There’s some scrambling. Definitely recommend going the direction advised so that coming down isn’t too hard. Totally epic, iconic views.

we went off the trail a couple of times but all views were pretty good. We cut the hike short because of time but would def do the whole loop next time. Not crowded and water fountains available to refill.

Trail is partly paved and partly dirt. Nice view and has water station 2 miles from the Griffith observatory. The last mile to the back of the sign is approximately 15 degree incline.

Nice hike! Very hot in the sun without much shade. So many different trails that it was hard to stick to this map, but still found my way to the Hollywood sign without problem. I probably won’t be doing it again any time soon.

Did the hike on October 2019, nice and easy place to do a hike, there are many trails that can take you up but they all meet close to the top to take you to the Hollywood sign, so you better choose which way is better for you, on our way back it got dark and got a little lost, but finally found our right way down. It can be a little crowded because of tourists but overall nice and easy hike.

Pretty amazing trail. Easy and free to park which as you know about in LA is rare. Keep your eye on Alltrails it's not hard to go down wrong path or miss difficult to see ones. I went off course few times

Great trail- going for the first time it was an amazing experience getting to see the Hollywood sign up close. During my hike I also got to see 2 dear and the view on top was stunning. I would recommend going early since many people start to come just to take pictures with the sign on the back and that can cause a struggle to find parking.

Great trail. Took a few wrong turns and ended up hiking close to 10 miles. Great view of the city and the back of the Hollywood sign. This is what makes Los Angeles special!

Less a trail and more a network of coyote game trails intersecting dry fire roads. Great views of the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, and on the other side Downtown L.A. and Hollywood. The extended path to the Wisdom Tree from the Hollywood sign has a significant bouldering section that you have to crawl up and down. Watch out for coyotes. They’re the size of German Shepherds and they don’t run away when you yell at them. I had to pick up a rock and backtrack and one point because two turned on me and started coming back up the trail. It’s a crowded hike however, so you’ll never be far from other people.
