Very easy road most 2WD can do this but it does get a little rough at the east end for the last 3 or so miles if your car is low. The rest of the trail is mainly flat and easy. Not much fun for wheeling but the trail does lead to more challenging terrain like gold mountain and burns. A good day for family and relaxing. There’s a few mines and old houses but they’re not much to look at being buried or very little left.

Looking for a place to take our Renegade and found this trail mentioned several times while in Big Bear. Pretty easy trail with places to stop and see some history. Had a lot of fun and would do it again if we return to the area.

Fun, simple trail with some pretty cool history behind it. Be sure to grab the Gold Fever pamphlet/map at the discovery center to follow along the trail and read about the trails history.
