Short but sweet. This hike doesn't take too long, but it sure makes you put in a good workout. It's usually super crowded with people heading to and from the beach, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of spots to stop and take a selfie with the awesome scenery.

This happened to be my first trail since moving here. Stunning views! They need to be since the hill repeats kick your arse. There is a spur off the stairs trail from the beach that you can take, but is much steeper and more difficult. I wouldn't advise taking it down, but up is a better option. I've heard it called goat trail.

Stop and enjoy the view. You can see La Jolla from almost every point. Beach is nice, plenty of surfers to watch. Life guards patrol the area so does the SDFD. If the wind currents are good you can see gliders taking off. Great beach. Steep climb back. There's no shade on the trail. Take your time. Watched a 70+ year old man climb the stairs up and down several times, the entire time I was there. If he can do you so can you.
