Deceptively easy in the beginning, but really revs up once you make the ascent up to Dante's View - the Hogback portion is especially unforgiving, especially after the Glendale summit. Overall though, a nice hike through the heart of Griffith.

Careful if you decide to take the detour up to the peak, it’s a very narrow and overgrown path and we encountered a few rattle snakes while up there.

The views are amazing from start to finish!! Multiple trails and options once inside. Pay attention to the routes and enjoy the various inclines. I plan to go back to try the other trails.

A note on the path off the trail to reach the actual peak: The trail was pretty overgrown when I went two weeks ago. Also the east end of trail has a very steep section that requires scrambling when it connects with the main trail. I would recommend using the west end of the trail if you really desire the great view of Glendale for which the pinnacle is named.

hot but it was fun, but will be tiring going up if you are a beginner lol but running down was fun! there’s this little shady botanical-ish area a little after the peak and it was nice to relax there :)

One of my favorite city hikes. It's a great workout and has nice city views. Perfect place to take tourists as you get to see the Hollywood sign, Griffith observatory, and DTLA. Parking is easy, huge lot and street parking across from the trail head. It is busy but the trail is quite large.

I really enjoyed this trail! Parking was pretty easy and had a lot available (came on a Friday mid morning). Went counterclock wise as some people suggested and started on the Riverside trail. First 1/3 of this hike was pretty wide open with no shade but enough space between passing by people. Amazing views on this first portion of the trail of the city. Then once you reach Hogback Trail things start to get challenging. Pretty gradual elevation incline and I had to take a break several times. No shade at all during this 2/3 portion. Pretty rocky as well. Bridge crossing around here too. Once you reach Dante's View, you can go on other trails or just continue down Charlie Turner trail to get back to the parking lot. Dante's view has a nice rest stop area where you can have a snack and overlook the views. Nice and shaded. When you head back down be sure to go on the correct path. It was confusing figuring out which path to take back down. This final leg of the hike was pretty easy as you just go back down the hill. Easy to follow. Would do this again, but maybe earlier in the morning or when it's cooler outside.

This was good trail but unfortunately I couldn’t finish the hike because it was SO BUSY. There were so many people - many of them had those portable stereos playing music. Have you heard of Airpods or headphones? I don’t want to hear your lame music. I also don’t want to have brush by you because you aren’t wearing a mask and blabbing away to your stupid friend about how you can’t find a date. Also, don’t bring 2,000 kids here and their wagons of crap and hold up the foot traffic. It’s unfortunate the trail was so busy on a Wednesday in the early evening. These idiots are going to get the trails shutdown again.

Definitely a good workout, not the easiest if you are a beginner. Gorgeous views of the Griffth Observatory and the LA City Skyline all the way through!
