Trail is very rocky... watch your step! It’s a nice walk, but not many good views. Interesting resort though!

fairly smooth incline all the way to the alpine resort. (can be tough if you're not used to hiking at 6800 feet). Trail is rockey, watch your step!

The first ~0.5 mi of the trail was pretty rocky, but overall it was a nice, fairly easy hike. The views weren't quite as nice as we had hoped (we did go 2 mi in). We went on a Saturday between 9-10AM and the parking lot was full. A lot of cars were parked along the side of the road leading up to it as well. The road driving in is narrow and you may need to pull over to the shoulder to let others pass, however overall drivers are courteous.

NOT EASY if you choose to park at lower falls. About 1/4 mile from trail head I pulled off and parked on side of road. We scrambled up the waterfall, which was super fun and great for my 8 and 10 year old. I would suggest one adult per 2 kids. Good shoes with grip. Overall an amazing climb and not difficult physically if you’re in decent shape. If you are active or have active kids I highly recommend the climb. It’s not vertical at all. Just look and choose the best path for you. We also found some quiet spots at upper falls for kids to play with rocks and hang. Being snacks and make a half day out of it. Arrive by 9:30 on weekend or earlier. You will have to share the road but drivers are considerate

Started out at Glen Alpine trailhead and saw a great waterfall just over a mile on the trail. The first part of the trail is crushed granite and river rock up to Glen Alpine Springs and turns into a regular hiking trail after that. Decided to go to Grass Lake following the stream with 2 crossings. Grass Lake is a typical awesome sierra lake and well worth the 6.9 miles round trip. Highly recommend this hike.

A lot is the trail has about 2-8 inches of water on it still. Waterfall is starting to slow down but definitely worth the quick jaunt up the hill. Grab a soda or coffee from the Soada Bar while you’re at the springs!

Very wet the trail is flooded out in several areas. Side trails have been made to avoid the water but you do have to cross the trail in several areas. Bring proper footwear and poles for the uncoordinated. There was still snow just after the resort.

Snowshoeing

Early May. About 3km past the trail gates (which isn't reachable by car) there started to have enough snow for snowshoeing. A series of waterfalls, super beautiful. Some nontrivial amount of flooding on the trail. Wear high ankle waterproof boots

First to Review

Not sure if I would call this hike easy, but it really isn't moderate or hard. This isn't a flat hike. It does have some incline in a couple of spots.
