It has been reported this trail has a temporary closure due to COVID-19. Please see the park's website for up to date information. Drive to the best view in all of Yosemite. This 270-degree view of the Valley, Half Dome, and 3 Falls will amaze you. Glacier Point is a popular stop for many new visitors to Yosemite National Park on their way down to Yosemite Valley. Although it's not much of a hike, the view at the end of the paved walkway will leave you breathless. You will see (left to right) both Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, Yosemite Valley below, Clouds Rest, Half Dome standing proud, and even Vernal and Nevada Falls. What more could you ask for? Winter In Winter the road to Glacier Point is closed to cars, but strap on a pair of cross country skis or snowshoes and you should be good to go. If you want to stay overnight, reserve a spot in the Glacier Point Ski Hut where there are bunk beds (dormitory style), a wood fire, food, and good company.

We left a little too late to enjoy the full sunrise, but after 4am we still did see the most amazing view of the Valley

Went here in the early summer in the late afternoon. The trail is more of a walk rather than a hike. It was of course crowded. We picked up some snacks and made our way to the spectacular views. I’m giving this 5 stars because the views are breathing taking. Yes, it makes for very good pictures. But the best part was when we found a place to just sit on a rock, enjoy our snacks, and take in the gorgeous views.

A fairly long drive which leads to very small hike. Great bang for your buck. You get a strenuous hike view without the hike. Make sure to check for Glacier Point road closures when planning your trip. The road is typical open Late May through roughly October.

June 2018-Super easy, gorgeous views. Later took the more moderate trail from glacier point to sentinel dome for arguably even more stunning views. Overall one of the best days of my life, it was so beautiful!

Mid October, beautiful hiking weather. We hiked down from Sentinel Dome and back up. (which would be my recommendation. ) The hike down from Sentinal was not bad, but going back up was a little more challenging. Glacier Point does provide some beautiful views which made it worthwhile. It was busy with non-hikers, who rode the bus up to take photographs.

Short walk to good view of the valley. Very crowded and paved the whole way. While the view is great, I think there are better options doing any of the trails around glacier point if you are willing to hike.

Super easy, this really want a hike, more of a really short walk to get to a look out point. It is a must do though. Really amazing view of half dome and great photo opportunities.

Easy walk to the point. Amazing views, even though September/October has little to no falls. A must “hike.”

A beautiful panoramic view of the Yosemite valley and its breathtaking perspective over the rock formations and waterfalls. Most were dry but still a great experience- especially with the dogs on such a beautiful day!

Very challenging hike. Consider wearing hiking shoes, not snickers or sandals!! Totally worth and absolute must for those who can make it to the end. Yosemite falls part is beautiful too.

This is not an actual hike of course, but a five minute walk from the parking area. The views are, needless to say, amazing, though I preferred other ways to get to those views on actual hiking trails that were less crowded.

It's a nice orientation view to the valley. Quite the drive back there. Got there 715am. Lots of parking spaces left on Labor Day! Sunlight wasn't great for photography at that early hour. Ate breakfast and took in the view.

This was a great view and gives such a different perspective of the Yosemite valley. Awesome view of Half Dome. We did a good portion of Lower Yosemite Falls the day before, and while we felt high on that trail, from Glacier Point it looks like nothing. The scale is hard to imagine. I’ll be heading back tonight for some star gazing for sure.
