HikingFeeGreat!

Really nice trail. Long but not very intense. Lots of wildlife- wild boar, deer, cows of course, turkeys and even spotted a bobcat. Not much shade but it was cool when we went. Will come back in the spring when everything is green and more water in the lake.

Good and pretty trail. Not lots of incline so an easy 10 miles. Took 3 hours. Didn’t run into a lot of people and decent views of the lake!

HikingNo shade

5 stars due to: Views. animals, flowers, the lake, trail maintenance, the level of durt, parking lot facility (very clean toilets). Tips: Shade is about 35%, Apr-May is the best period from my point of view. Some parts of the trail affected by cows and if you have knees or balance issue be careful. KPIs :-): Collected garbage along the route - 0.3 bag (1 bag = 3 gallons)

HikingMuddy

So much mud. The whole trail was just soaked. It was a fairly easy trail but because of the mud and it sticking to my shoes making them really heavy it was challenging. I saw turkeys, cows and wild pigs/ boars. The pig/boars have tore up a lot of the trail causing even more mud. Do this trail clockwise so you do the hills in the beginning and save the lake for last.

Nice wide trails for the most part. When going through some of the pastures there were a lot of areas where the cows had beaten down the paths, but still walkable just use caution. Started the hike at 10am ended at 3:30pm, wore a light sweater all the way through.

HikingMuddy

The cows have taken over and really destroyed a lot of the trails in this park, making for treacherous adventures. Not recommended for anyone with weak ankles or balance issues.

Good trail. Lots of animals: turkeys, wild pigs, dears and cattle. We extended the hike by going down to the valley. This adds 2 miles. The view of the lake has nothing special. The lake was quite low.

First to Review

Nice short hike with great views of the lake. You can make it 4 miles by starting on the Mendoza trail, taking a right onto the Mummy Mountain trail and then looping back to the parking lot via the coyote ridge trail.
