Great trail with the detour to the river very worth it. Just a small missed opportunity by bypassing the waterfall. Other than that, great all around.

Some pretty steep ascent at some points We did Garland Ranch from West to East plus a couple of explores (waterfall, viewpoints) so 24 miles total Winter is a great time of the year to hike that park as for summer it’s gets really hot the trail being exposed often.

Awesome run! Bring a headlamp if you leave within 2 hours of sunset. Darkness can join here as the mileage is deceiving due to significant terrain

Be careful of the poison oak it grows out onto the trail often. Does anyone know when there’s water at the falls out there? Went in early August 2019 and it was dry.

Although shaded throughout, the sunny spots are intense. Bring lots of water.

Very steep at some points but totally doable. I definitely recommend climbing the 1/4 mile or so up Snively’s ridge trail once you get to the top of the sky trail, the view from there is as good as any in the area.

Nice hike.

Great for a half day hike. Trail is shady for most of the hike and there are nice views of Carmel Valley periodically. Steep towards the top, but you are rewarded with a view that stretches all the way to Santa Cruz!

Nice length, good amount of incline to get the heart rate up. Nice amount of shade. Great view!

Ample parking. Dog and horse friendly. Sun and shade. Wide enough trails to walk side by side. Nice loop!

We hiked this trail with 4 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5 (granted, none of the children walked the entire way). It had a few modest inclines and declines and offered spectacular views of the valley and the redwoods were amazing. All season bridges we passable, even with moderate rain fall in recent weeks. This trail is definitely a keeper for us.

Another great 9 mile trip from the visitor center. Here's my route sequence: Car bridge-Lupine-Mesa-Garzas-Redwood-Terrace-Garzas-Mesa-Hawkeye-Fern-Mesa-Lupine-Visitor center. Solo trip, my daughter was sick.

Started from the Garland visitor center making this a 9 mile loop. 1st time to Garzas and happy I finally made it here with my daughter. The steep canyon walls and huge redwoods were amazing. Great trails to choose from in this area, something for everybody.
