Nice wide trail and well used. Best done counter clockwise, as it is steep at the beginning in this direction with a flat return. Good views of the airport and the Bob Hope home. Connects to other trails, so be careful not to take a wrong turn.

Gets the heart rate up in places, but the reward is beautiful views.

This should really be called the Garstin-Shannon-Henderson Loop, especially if you go counterclockwise. Up the right side on the Garstin Trail. That leads into, at about 1.5 miles, a left onto the Shannon Trail. This will lead down to a “T” intersection of the Henderson Trail. Go left, staying on the trail back to the starting point on Barona Road. If you want easier, drop down into the wash and walk back on the flat from there. Very beautiful views. Can even see Bob Hope’s house. Much greener than our desert hikes, with abundant high grass all over.

Nice trail on cool day with varied scenery of the valley and mountains. Particularly enjoyable on a cloudy day.

Great trail, good cardio workout and beautiful views of Palm Springs and the surrounding mountains. Somehow missed it was a loop, so went all the way up to the top and turned back. Took me 1.5 hours with a 5-mn break at top.

I love this trail and have done it several times. Today I encountered a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. It was very close to the edge of the trail and I only realized it was there when it hissed at me. I backed away and waited a bit for it to leave, but it didn’t move. The trail was narrow so I didn’t feel comfortable trying to go around it. Be careful out there, folks!

Great hike, great trail! Starting with uphill push with switchbacks and beautiful views of foothills. Levels off at Shannon trail then easy leveling to end.

Hiked counterclockwise. Steep beginning with lots of switchbacks. Excellent cardio workout! Beautiful views of Palm Springs & surrounding mountains. Some steep areas to maneuver on your way down. Be sure to have plenty of water. Wear sunscreen, hat & hiking boots.

Nice trail - around 2 hours with lots of picture stops. The Garstin portion was busy but once we continued onto the Shannon section, it quieted right down. Would definitely recommend.

Easy and quick hike for our girls weekend. Easy trail head location in pretty residential cul-de-sac. Great views and finished the loop in less than 2 hours.

This is a really nice hike with great views. Started along the Wash (Palm Canyon CreeK) where it's relatively flat for a while and in the shade, even for part of the climb up. Very scenic views of Palm Springs, across to Mt. San Jacinto and the ridge where the Bob Hope house lies. All in all a nice hike. Took us a little over 2 hours for the complete loop.

Great hike on a relatively cool day. Not crowded , bumped into only 3 other hikers. Went counter clock wise - up the elevation made the return side of loop easier.

Loved our hike today! Important to wear proper head gear as there is no shade. Garstin-Shanon-Henderson loop! Loved seeing Bob Hope’s house!
