Great little hike. Most of the hike has a nice wide trail that is well maintained (and part of it paved). The end of the hike was through a residential neighborhood. Nice views of the valley, but nothing amazing. Not too crowded, but passed people every couple of minutes. Saw Mountain bikers, dog walkers, and trail runners in addition to people out for a walk. Great place to get some exercise.

Pro Tip! Park on street, Laurel Canyon has good amount of street parking and sure you’ll walk another 5 minutes but you’re there to walk anyway! avoid parking lot at all costs, more stressful than it’s worth :)

Saw coyotes and deer towards the top of the loop on 9/29 - very cool but for those with dogs, best to keep them on leash!

It’s definitely more interesting if you start up hill and come back through the hill again instead of the street 3.8 miles it takes about an hour, the three stars is because the parking lot is very small and the people here are dicks who can’t wait to park in the order they arrive I experienced this multiple times in fact almost every time we came here. “PARKING ETIQUETTE IS A THING”

Very busy and popular trail. Great for dogs for an easy hike but some of the other dog owners were...bigger *jerks* than usual... but I guess that’s LA. Decent views and overall a nice and easy venture.

It’s a pretty good trail. An amazing way to start off your day or end it. Great workout going uphill to begin the trail. Definitely recommend it.

When you start the trail at the trail head, be prepared for a moderately steep climb up that doesn’t abate until short of a mile in. That said, the trail offers great views of Studio City and the surrounding San Fernando Valley. Durning the summer months, I recommend you carry a hydration pack as the trail is hot especially on the asphalt portion of the trail. If you bring your dog, be sure to have something to pour some water in it for it to drink. There is a water fountain up near the trail entrance to the cool little amphitheater but that is about two miles into the hike. As you follow the trail, it will dump you out in a very nice residential neighborhood where you will finish up the approximately 3.3 mile loop. Be sure to explore a few of the ‘fingers’ off the main trail for other panoramic views of the surrounding valley. The trail is well kept so there is no real concern about snakes or other wildlife that can’t be seen.

This hike is lovely. It's a moderate incline for the first half and then a nice easy walk down. I go every morning at around 7/7:30 and it's usually cool/slightly overcast and somewhat shaded along the way. The foot traffic is very light early in the morning, but by the time I finish, at 8ish the lot is full and there's a lot more foot traffic. Overall the earlier the better during the week for this hike. I'd say its more on the easy side of moderate.

Great way to get a quick 3-Mile Trail run in. There is water and bathrooms at both the Laurel Canyon parking lot as well as at Tree People at the top so you can start from either side. Pavement can eat up your trail shoes but given that it isn’t technical, older trail shoes or plain old running shoes will work just fine.

A lot of incline at the beginning, after that it’s a pretty smooth trail. Best to go during late afternoon since there’s hardly shade

My phone tracked this trail as only 2.5 miles. Not as much shade as I was expecting. Pretty good hike but definitely not a moderate 3.3 mile hike as advertised.

Too short for a good ride and crowded.

Overall a pretty nice hike. I think it is definitely easier than a moderate scale hike.

Great trail but busy with people. Parking lot is busy too.

VERY EASY hike, no idea why it’s rated moderate. It’s definitely under 3miles. Ranger was leaving tickets to cars parked on Fryman Rd outside the parking lot, which was full. Truly uneventful.
