We took our dog on the trail. Some areas are flat and some have moderate hills. Took about an hour and 40 minutes round trip including a hike around Frog lake

Nice hike with a 6 and 3 year old, 3 year old hiked about half way. Most of steep elevation change is right at beginning. Continue on the lake loop for an expansive view of the valley.

Beautiful trail with wild flowers and amazing views! Very busy on the weekends but everyone had great trail etiquette.

Great camping spots at Raymond Lake and the no name lake with small island, just before Tamarack Lake. Tough three day hike; probably more comfortable over four days with an additional overnight at Blue Lake.

Great trail right now. weather is perfect and there are plenty of wildflowers. Took my 2 dogs. Trail is dry and easy to navigate. Still a couple patches of snow but not on the trail. Frog lake was perfect!

July 13, 2019. A few bugs, decent amount of snow on the S side of the pass, beautiful lakes and amazing wildflowers. Highly recommend. Also, do the N side of the pass on the PCT.

Moderate trail, fairly popular. Still a fair amount of snow above 8,500 ft. Recommend an early start to avoid afternoon thunderstorms, although the snow will be harder. Wildflowers are starting to bloom. Should be a lot more in a few weeks. Nice views of numerous lakes and nearby peaks at higher elevations.

Lovely, short hike to the lake. A bit of an uphill at first but very manageable. Walk past the lake to see a great view of Red Lake below. Note that if you go from Nov. 1 to May 30 you're expected to have paid for and be displaying a sno-park pass in your car. The pass is not available for purchase at the parking lot trailhead.

Beautiful views for a short trail (walk to the E edge of the lake to see Hope Valley) with great options for off trail wandering to the S and SE of lake

Nice, short, easy trail to small lake with good views. Low water and heavily impacted shoreline made lake a little less scenic. Continue in to Lake Winnemucca if you can. Amazing there.
