Beautiful trail!!! Started from Kit Carson and hiked along the PCT route. Aimed to get to the Evergreen lake but ran out of time. End up off trailing back. I would suggest going back the same route you started from once you get to the end point.

beautiful trail, always something different to see in every season. I prefer hiking in the spring, when you can see a large abundance of wild flowers and the view at the top is even more spectacular with the last snow of the year. Hiked in fall too and it was just as equally amazing, but no snow at the top.

We did the hike today. For sure not in the woods. It’s more of a rocky ecosystem. But we swam across the entire lake! It was great.

Hiked around Frog Lake as part of a longer hike out to Lake Winnemucca. Highly recommend taking the trail counterclockwise around Frog Lake. On the backside of the lake you can walk up on to the rocks and enjoy a stunning view of Red Lake and the valley below. It is not to be missed. Great spot to stop for a snack or lunch or to spend the day relaxing in the Sierra sun. Definitely gets busier in the afternoon, so go early.

Great little hike up in the mountains with a beautiful small lake as your end destination. Very windy trail and very rocky with some moderately steep inclines. Great for dogs as well.

Nice and easy trail with great views. If your more adventurous, I'd highly recommend summiting Elephant back. After Frog lake, head towards Winnemucca lake, not to far down the trail, you'll see the PCT trail, going South. Go down the PCT trail untill about the Mokelumne Wilderness sign. From there you'll definitely see Elephants Back and you can make your way up the east side of it. Fairly challenging but doable. Faint trails going up it to follow. Thankfully it's not to long of a way up, just very hard given the steepness and loose rocks.

it is sure to be nice when the snow melts. as of right now there is a lot of snow and the path is easy to lose.
