Park at the Skyline Gate Staging Area at Pine Hills Dr.
Lots of parking and fairly easy to find, Great park where some trails are really crowded however any trail that has elevation gains are quiet. Trails in pretty good condition. Well marked however French can be confusing at times. Stream trail is a nice stroll where you will see lots of families however French is a little more of a challenge starting with a 350 feet elevation gain that will get your heart pumping. Once you get through this part it is fairly flat. When you get to roughly the 6 mile part of the hike you will want to make the final push to finish however pause - this is one of the quietest parts of the park where there are a ton of redwoods and very little light. The last mile or so has another 300 foot elevation gain.
My favorite trail in the east bay!
One of the best hikes in the bay area. Great on rainier days. Quick uphill, then you're at the tree canopy for most of the first half. Gotta love a loop!
Easy trail with stream and wild flowers. Got to know the history of redwood too. My dog enjoyed it :)
