This was a good hiking trail. The temp was around 63 and the skies were clear. The landscape was picturesque.
Trail dead ends to private property.
I did this trail as a side trek while doing the Murphy Meadow Trail in the same EBRP. It was a nice trail, fun to walk. There are several errors however in this app that I feel should be clarified for other hikers. First the map I see to the right says 0.4 miles from the trail head. That is WAY off. Today, using my GPS hike tracker The trail head to the point where the Miwok Trail splits with the Murphy Meadow trail is actually closer to 1.25 miles. You take the Murphy Meadow trail about .25 miles to where the Foxtail Trail splits from it. By the way...it is not the "Fox Trail" it is called the "Foxtail Trail".
This trail is actually in the park named Round Valley Regional Preserve. However, Round Valley is next door to Los Vaqueros Reservoir, (which is spelled incorrectly as well). Round Valley Regional Preserve address is: 19450 Marsh Creek Rd, Brentwood, CA 94513
