Fort Ord Public Lands is a 5 mile loop trail located near Seaside, California. The trail is rated as moderate and primarily used for hiking, walking, and trail running. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Found on the Fort Ord Army Base, these public lands are a must if you are in the Monterey area. Little known to the local public due to its location on the now closed Fort Ord, these trails are a true treat. Walk, bike or ride a horse through grove after grove of oaks. Shown here is but one of the many trail routes that you can take and with the many inter-connections you will never have to take the same rout twice.
Decent trail. 3 miles of it is nice paved road that could fit two cars. Other 2 miles is 1-person dirt path through the trees. Only saw two people so I was able to have my dog walk off leash most of the time. Not really much of a view but has lots of open space for the sun to shine through. Sadly it rained on us 2.5 miles in so lots a mud on the trails. Will probably do this one again because there was almost no one on the trails and has a lot of connecting trails on it.
