Went for a hike here with my dog today. It’s a really beautiful area and a fun hike, but it gets pretty steep! Once we hit the 2 mile mark it was a lot of work not to slide down the hill. Probably not advisable for kids.

Good hike, we hardly hike, but liked this and will go again. We brought a stroller with us and I will baby wear next time instead of push him in a stroller.

Lots of people at the trailhead but you can shake off most of them after the first 1/4 mile, they seem to stop and take easier side trails for the most part. Bring lots of water as it gets really hot and there was quite a climb at the beginning if you start at the right hand side at the entrance of the loop coming in from the parking lot. There is lots of parking on the street so no need to pay $7 for parking in the small lot unless you really want to support the park :) There are nice bathrooms in the parking lot.

It's a nice trail if you live in the area and just want to get out for a little while on short notice. Have a coffee or a snack in Windsor afterwards.

Limited in length but not in beauty nor versatility in terrain. It’s outlined somewhat by private housing and vineyards so if you’re looking for a complete escape this isn’t it... but the views of Sonoma County or gorgeous and abundant, there are a couple small ponds to travel around, and plenty of benches along the way. There’s a lot of shade so keep that in mind!

Great hike with beautiful views and lots of nice up and down for a moderate walk. Parking lot is $7 or plenty of street parking free. Sneakers or hiking shoes both fine for this terrain. Would be nice to come back for a trail run too.

Came across this little gem while on a business trip with my man. He was busy, I wanted to hike and ended up here. Beautiful day!! Beautiful park!! Was a short loop at under 3 miles, so did a loop one way then the other
Such a pleasant surprise tucked into this town , loved it !

The trails start off with a gradual to moderate incline. Lots of switchbacks, mostly oaks and scrub brush. Some great views of vineyards.

Love this park. Only reason for 4 stars is it can get very crowded.

This is one of my favorite spots to go. This is the best trail in the park in my opinion. You see three lakes and you are among the oak trees. Sometimes it’s busy with lots of people and bikes and dogs even horses. There are plenty of stopping areas if you want to have a snack or just rest. Benches or picnic tables are scattered around the park. This trail is very versatile, you can go for a quick run or take your time and enjoy nature.

"Lake" is a bit of a stretch. It's blistering hot in the summer, so don't go until it's cooled off. But it has quite a view, and it's a very serene walk.

Nice view at the top

This is great for families, or those who want a hike close to town. I was surprised at the remote feel of the park, despite its entrance being in the middle of town. Excellent trails for kids, dogs, and horses.

Easy and beautiful trail. I enjoy it most towards sunset in early summer. The initial climb to Vista Point is steep with loose rocks. I usually prefer using the other side of Vista Point Trail if I'm running.

Only 3 minutes drive from the house. Fun to walk with the kiddo and a great place to take kids fishing! Can get crowed though.

A number of trails loop through this 210-acre regional/county park. Oak, madrone and buckeye trees cover the small hills in green during spring and summer and add a small splash of color in the autumn. The soil looks pale, like adobe clay, but very rocky with obsidian and chert from the nearby Maacama mountains. The southern edge of the park is bordered by residential subdivisions. Vantage points from some of the hill tops give nice views over the town. The trails are well designed and maintained. You can hike for hours without retracing your steps.
