Nice shaded trail- more difficult at the beginning than I anticipated but mellowed our and made for a great lunchtime hike- beautiful views of the Russian river and the Sonoma valley

the trail is a semi moderate hike, for All ages. At first it starts with random uphills and then as you get close to the mountain there is more uphills to climb. Other than that make sure to bring plenty of water and a wide brim hat for protection. I started hiking around 420pm and it was on the mid 80's. Not so heavily trafficked as it says here. Me and my gf saw only 3 people. I definitely reccomend it.

Great workout. Tough to take in the vista as there are a lot of trees. Decent shade.

The views aren’t great but the uphill is fantastic if you want a quick hike.

It well marked and without the app would have struggled. Get to nice elevation but have no views of the landscape due to the heavy tree cover. Overall ok to good in my rating.

Once you find the trail, it is pretty easy to get around, they have signs all over the place. A good strenuous hike uphill, but the payoff is somewhat lacking, as the views are minimal. A lot of birds and butterflies.

I’m 55 and NOT in shape. 1 hour up 30 minutes down. 1 muddy blowdown to pick my way over. Nice workout and amazing views!

Note: go up to the villa and park in lower lot. There is no parking at the fireroad on North Fitch Mtn Rd. This trail has mostly good footing once you get on the fire road. From the trailhead at the park, it is muddy and a little slick after it rains. We had a little trouble finding the proper path, as there is not a kiosk at the start. Basically you just drop over the banking near the entrance to the lower parking lot, stay to the right (round building on the left), go a bit further and bear left when it starts climbing up the banking. You will cross the stream, climb to an intersection and take a sharp right. The rest is easy to follow, with signs.

Really nice trail for walking the dog and getting a good but not overly strenuous workout. It would have been difficult to find the trail if a passerby hadn’t pointed me in the right direction. I ended up taking a small path that takes off just left of a fence with a sign that says “not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles” (posted a picture of this) and following this up and to the left until it hit the trail just a few min later. From there you take the trail, which is a wide dirt fire road for most the way, to the right. It’s well marked to the summit from there. Nicely shaded and suitable for hiking or running shoes - at least in the dry season.

I would rate this trail as "hard" because of the continuous up hill and the down hill that follows as a natural consequence . The trail head was difficult to find and the trails were rutted and slick dirt. Definitely wear well treated hiking boots and bring poles. The setting is pleasant and lightly traveled.

The trail is a little hard to find. However, the challenge of finding the trail is worth the effort. I was very impressed with the trail from start to finish. Great views of the Healdsburg area from the top! recommend parking in the lower parking area and grabbing the trail from there!
