The inpatly named Fair Oaks Trail -- there is not a single oak on the trail -- climbs a ridge from suburban Santa Clarita with nice views of Placerita Canyon and the Santa Clarita Valley. The trail is paved for the first few hundred yards, and then becomes a well-maintained single track.

Short trail up a ridge from suburban Canyon Country to Golden Valley Open Space. Despite the name of the trail, I didn't see a single oak; there is no shade. Views are ok, comparable to the nearby Nadeau Trail.
