Trail was easy to follow, but we made wrong decision at about 1.5 miles. There was a switchback option & a straight ahead across the creek option. Take the switchback if u want to stay on Emerson Creek Trail. The map I downloaded on here doesn’t show the switchback, but you will definitely see the trail if daylight. We crossed the creek & could see we were headed away from correct trail, but we embraced the mistake & choose to summit Emerson Peak. This might have been a mistake, but it was overshadowed by a heap of bad decisions during to hike/climb back to the car. It was after 11pm by the time we made it back to Emerson Creek Campground. All-Around Hiking Paradise 4*stars only because trails weren’t marked at intersection.

Tail is not well defined in places though not too difficult to follow. I hike late June and there was water along the way.
