The trail was ok. Didn’t like the trail is next to the freeway. I would definitely recommend another trail. The City does a poor job take care of the trail. Lot of graffiti

Nice little hike. There were lots of dogs on the trail, they caused no problems. Parts of the trail up on the hill are riddled with holes from the wildlife so be careful. Overall, it was enjoyable.

Loved it! Partially paved, mostly not. Easy to follow path. Went at 7:30am, not too congested but definitely well-known amongst the locals. Lots of dogs :)

A fun and convenient little trail for when you need a quick break from the city. This hike is mostly exposed, with small shady patches throughout. The path winds through eucalyptus groves and dry chaparral shrubs, with more lush foliage as you get closer to the lodge; it’s wide, even, and well-maintained, and would be excellent for anyone wanting to try trail running. I always go counterclockwise, but have seen people hike and run in both directions. Great trail for families and dogs, it’s only 2.4mi around and the elevation gain is minimal—just one little hill about a mile in that ends at a small conservation garden (with running water and a bowl for pups). So far it’s never been crowded midweek, and without exception everyone I’ve passed has had a face mask on (thank you!). You can park on the north side of Elysian Park Dr., or at the lot on Chavez Ravine. Huge grassy knolls and scattered tables and benches near the parking areas, great for picnics and bbqs.

One of my favorite trails! It’s perfect for small kids, pups, or if you’d just like a quick bit of activity! There is an enormous amount of parking, beautiful views of the Valley, beautiful views of DTLA, a little elevation but not too much. I’d absolutely recommend, this is a fun, well kept trail!

We enjoyed this fun short loop as part of our adventures exploring LA. We went 2-3 weeks ago on a Saturday and not many people where on the trail.
