I love the bluffs and run them frequently when we are visiting the area. They are a great place for a run or a casual walk, and it is pretty easy to drop down to the beach for an even better experience. The ocean views are awesome. The ocean sounds are awesome. It is a good place to be quiet and let your mind think/wander. A huge plus right now is that the entire bluff is green! This is truly a rare occurrence and makes a visit all the better.
Easy hike for the kids. Enjoy the butterflies in the late winter.
Wonderful experience to see the Monarch butterflies and a short walk to the beach for awesome views!
I used to walk the trails of the Ellwood Bluffs SO often, growing up in Goleta. They are so well-maintained and diverse, good for walking/mild hiking, off-road biking, jogging, bird-watching, and photoshoots. The monarch butterflies spend some time here each year during their long migration, and the eucalyptus groves smell amazing. You can easily walk from the parking lot, through the bluffs, and down the cliff to the beach.
Nice breeze. Pretty views. Somewhat busy for a Tuesday.
Loved walking this trail! It's perfect for those times when you want to get your blood pumping without doing anything too strenuous. Beautiful views all around!
It was fun to walk around and explore the bluffs.
Lovely trails beautiful views. Easy walking paths but some scary cliffs. Dogs love it there!!
Great walking trails, unfortunately not many monarchs 1/20/14, but plenty of wildlife ie gofers, birds, a hawk or two and some beautiful horses with riders. Definitely go all the way to the beach and hit the cliffs!
